A widespread problem in German schools is the inadequate technical equipment and insufficient inclusion of technological aids in the classroom. While private use of smartphones, tablets and the like is easy for children and adolescents, German schoolchildren are only in the middle in terms of their computer and information-related skills, according to the results of the international comparative study ICILIS. This result proves that “the widespread assumption that children and adolescents would automatically become competent users of digital media as a result of growing up in a world shaped by new technologies” does not apply. Media literacy and the safe handling of IT applications are anchored in the requirement profiles for employees and some of the basic requirements for later success in the job. By making a SMART interactive whiteboard available in a primary school in Rhineland-Palatinate, we want to help ensure that schoolchildren are introduced to the safe and controlled use of such technologies in a playful manner.

Another sharp decline in bees in our environment would have a dramatic impact on plant biodiversity. Therefore, bees are not only extremely important for agriculture, but we would also have to do without the colourful flowers in cities: insects, birds and other animals that rely on plants as a food source would starve. Therefore, the HCM and its employees have been taking care of 3 bee colonies since 2016 to make a small contribution to the continued existence of the diversity and beauty of our immediate environment.
